I have found some cute shoes and bags at the Winners in Ottawa, but their cosmetics sections are usually lacking. During a short break from driving all over the great city of Toronto on Saturday, my mum and I went to the Winners at Lawrence Plaza (which for me will always be "United Bakers" Plaza). I love being in Toronto with my mum because she grew up there, and always remembers what things were "before." For example, that Winners used to be a department store called Morgan's.
I had never Lancome cosmetics in Winners. I was holding this Lancome palette in my hand (swatches are available on this blog). I loved that blush when it came out but resisted at the time. Even at the reduced price ($49), the palette still didn't grab me. There was also one Lancome lipstick in a smaller silver box in one of those sealed plastic boxes, so I bought it sight unseen thinking that it was a Rouge in Love. It wasn't. It's a "Rouge Sensation." The box said "Red Dress" but the tube says "Red Desire."
The bullet looked untouched and it was in a sealed box, but that creeps me out a little bit, especially because I noticed it AFTER I put it on my mouth. I think I'll give it a quick swipe with alcohol before I use it again.
It's actually a nice shade, but it's quite dark and looks very 90s on me. I'll have to figure out how to properly deploy it.

If I was less-than-successful in Winners, I had a minor shopping success in the Shoppers* across the street. I found Gosh's Holographic Hero, which is a special edition reissue of their beloved silver holo shade and which was sold out everywhere I looked in Ottawa. I plan to swatch a bunch of nail polishes at some point in the not-so-distant future, but the bottle shot is at the top of the post.
I've been in the mood for spring lately, which I think motivated the following purchase, also from SDM:

The Rouge in Love 146B is a beautiful coral. I really like the Rouge in Love formulation and I loooooove the packaging. Swatches of both are below. The Rouge Sensation is on top and the Rouge in Love is on the bottom.
*Did you know that the first two Shoppers Drug Marts were at York Mills Plaza and Don Mills (before it was the Shops at Don Mills) and that it was originally called Koffler's Drugs?
Have you had any shopping successes lately?
